Hi welcome to my blog, a chance to view my work and keep you posted on new pieces and exhibitions coming up in 2011.
If you would like to see my work I am currently exhibiting on stand number 172 at the RDS at the National Crafts Fair www.nationalcraftsfair.ie from the 1st of December to the 5th, I will have a selection of pieces on show including a new table design, new upolstered chair that supports your back, a unique drinks cabinet fresh from the MADE in Kilkenny exhibition for Kilkenny Arts Week www.madeinkilkenny.ie
Currently, I have just finished exhibiting at Dublin Design Week with the “Cream of Irish Design” a group of top contemporary Irish designers the show has received a great responce so thanks to Shane Holland for the organising it.
We formed Made in Kilkenny this year to promote the new craft trail in Kilkenny, MADE supports both retail and commission based designers in Kilkenny County. There are 26 members to date. Why not check out the new Pop up Shop in Kilkenny at Rose Inn Street, if your around before xmas, support Irish businesses.
A little about the businesses:
I work to commission, producing one-off pieces of furniture from my studio in Co. Kilkenny. My furniture are uniquely curvaceous; often unsymmetrical yet balanced, creating a focal point in any room.
When commissioning a piece, I design to the specific needs of my clients. I will create any form of freestanding furniture, mainly in European hardwoods, primarily oak. Occasionally, I will collaborate with fellow artists and incorporates their elements in to a piece.
